Originally released in the early 1900's, the Aviator frame is one of RayBan's staple items. Rayban were originally asked by the US Army Air Corps to design a pair of sunnies to protect their eyes from sun glare. The Aviators weren't hugely popular until the 1960's, when Ringo Star and Paul McCartney were snapped wearing them. However, they weren't established as a true pop-culture icon until the 1980's, when the movie Top Gun hit cinemas. Now, you can pay homage to Tom Cruise, the US Air Force, and 'Danger Zone' in these stylishly retro, gunmetal grey frames.
